I’m a Ph.D. Candidate in Socio-Cultural Anthropology, pursuing a concentration in the Anthropology of Food at Indiana University, Bloomington. My other fields of interest and competency include Food Studies, Environmental Anthropology, Environmental Studies, and South Asia Studies. My current research is about the promotion of traditional foods and the perception of food culture change in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. I have taught several undergraduate classes in various contexts, in addition to farm education programs for children and teens. I have experience in food systems non-profit organizations, as well. I have conducted research in India, Belize, and the US, and am interested in comparative analysis, scholarly collaboration, and engaging new audiences for scholarship through digital media, hands-on learning, and more.
