About

Me

Most people I know call me Maddie, and I use she/her pronouns.

The common denominator in all that I do is a passion for connecting people with each other and with resources that will help them learn about and improve their world.

What I'm About

Anthropologist, Educator, Connector

I am a researcher and an educator, with extensive experience in project management, pedagogy, grant writing, and program and event administration. My topical expertise is in cultural analysis, food studies, and environmental sustainability. I have significant international experience, most notably in South India, where I studied and conducted research for my PhD in Anthropology. My work experience spans across the non-profit, private, public, and academic sectors, and some of my recent projects have been in public health, market research, user experience research, and product development.

The common denominator in all that I do is a passion for connecting people with each other and with resources that will help them learn about and improve their world. I am always looking for more opportunities to serve as a connector and bring people, information, and resources together.

What I'm Up To Right Now

I work in community-engaged research focused on food policy in the Cincinnati region.

By the way, I talk about things related to my job here, but all of the views expressed here are mine alone and do not represent the views of my organization. I am not authorized to speak on behalf of my employer.

This Site

The website is focused on my professional activities and is meant to showcase some of my work. My professional life is intertwined with other areas of my life, of course, so don't be surprised if a sense of what I'm about more broadly (see above) comes across here, too. In fact, I think it would be a good thing!
